Next Group: Interest List Open | Dr. Ken Taylor, LPC-S, CSAT

Pornography. Affairs. Hookups. Compulsive masturbation. Secrecy. Broken promises.
If you have tried accountability groups, filters, willpower, or repeated confession but keep returning to the same patterns, you are not alone.
The Journey Course helps men move beyond behavior management and begin understanding the deeper story underneath unwanted sexual behavior. This is not a shame-based group. It is a structured, confidential, faith-informed recovery workshop for men who are ready to face the truth, understand their patterns, and begin rebuilding integrity.

Understand the “why” behind the behavior
Unwanted sexual behavior is often connected to deeper patterns of pain, stress, shame, loneliness, avoidance, and unmet emotional needs.
Break the isolation that keeps shame alive
Men heal differently when they are no longer carrying secrecy alone. A confidential group creates space for honesty, accountability, and support.
Identify the patterns beneath the cycle
The goal is not just to stop a behavior. The goal is to understand the pattern that keeps pulling you back into it.
Move from confession to change
Many men know how to admit what happened. Fewer men have a structure for understanding why it happened and what needs to change.
Rebuild integrity over time
Integrity is not rebuilt in a moment. It is rebuilt through repeated truth-telling, ownership, accountability, and practice.

Includes:
20 weekly 1.5 - 2 hour group sessions
Meet online through a secure platform or in person at SCIFSI.

The course is grounded in Jay Stringer’s work in Unwanted and the Journey Course framework.
Guided reflection and group discussion
Each week helps you connect your current behavior to the deeper story, patterns, wounds, stressors, and relational dynamics underneath it.
Self-assessments and weekly exercises
You will complete structured reflections designed to help you understand your story and identify the patterns that keep you stuck.
A confidential group of men pursuing integrity
The group is limited to 12 men to allow for honest discussion, safety, and meaningful participation.
The Journey Course
Based on Jay Stringer’s work in Unwanted and research drawn from thousands of stories of unwanted sexual behavior.
Rather than treating sexual behavior only as something to control, the Journey Course helps men examine the deeper story underneath the behavior. It gives men a structured way to explore shame, secrecy, stress, pain, fantasy, escape, relational disconnection, and the patterns that keep them stuck.
At SCIFSI, we use this material because it gives men a path from hiding into honesty, from shame into community, and from behavior management toward deeper integrity.
Guidance from Dr. Ken Taylor, LPC-S, CSAT, Journey Coach
Dr. Taylor has over 15 years of experience helping men address problematic sexual behavior.
This workshop is psychoeducational and recovery-focused. It is not a substitute for individual therapy, marital counseling, crisis care, or clinical treatment when those services are needed.
Is the group confidential?
Yes. The group is closed, and participants are expected to honor strict confidentiality. Confidentiality is essential for safety, honesty, and trust.
Do I have to be a Christian to participate?
No. The course includes Christian-informed insights, but men from different faith backgrounds or no formal faith background are welcome.
What if I do not have a trauma history?
You do not need a dramatic trauma history to participate. The course helps men explore their story, patterns, stressors, emotional needs, and relational dynamics wherever they begin.
Can I participate anonymously?
No. Participants must register and attend using their real identity. However, the group is closed, confidential, and limited in size.
Can this replace counseling?
No. This workshop can support recovery, but it does not replace individual therapy, marital counseling, psychiatric care, crisis services, or professional treatment when those are needed.
Is this only for pornography?
No. The course is for men struggling with a range of unwanted sexual behaviors, including pornography, affairs, hookups, compulsive masturbation, secrecy, and repeated sexual choices that violate their values.
