Institute for Sexual Integrity (SCIFSI)
Last updated: October 16, 2026

Reaching out for help with something this personal takes courage. We know that, and we take the trust you place in us seriously. This policy explains, in plain language, what information this website collects, why, and the choices you have.

This policy covers scifsi.com only. Our separate apps and our client portal have their own policies (see "Other services and links" below).

Who we are

Institute for Sexual Integrity LLC, doing business as the South Carolina Institute for Sexual Integrity (SCIFSI), is a counseling practice led by Dr. Ken Taylor, a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) and Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist (CSAT) in South Carolina. We help men address pornography, compulsive sexual behavior, secrecy, and the patterns that damage their lives and relationships.

The most important thing to know: this website is not your therapy record

  • Your clinical records are not kept on this website. Therapy notes, intake forms, assessments, and other clinical information belong in our secure client portal, not on scifsi.com.
  • Please don't send sensitive personal or health details through website forms, the website chat box, or regular email. That includes details about your sexual behavior, your history, your mental health, or legal matters. These tools are fine for simple things like "please contact me" or "I'm interested in the next group." They are not built for private clinical information.
  • If you're a client, or you want to become one, use the secure client portal at ken-taylor.clientsecure.me to schedule and share information, or call us at (803) 955-7627.
  • If you're in crisis, don't use the website. Call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or call 911.

What we collect

We try to collect as little as we can. Here is what this website collects.

When you request the free guide (/free-guide).
Your email address. You'll get a confirmation email asking you to verify it, and then the guide is emailed to you.

When you join the Journey Course interest list (/journey-course).
Your email address (required). The form also has optional fields for your name and a short message. Joining the list doesn't enroll you, reserve a seat, or require payment.

When you use the website chat or message box.
The message box on our pages asks for your name, mobile number, email address, and a short message so we can reply to you. Some replies in the chat may be generated automatically to answer common questions about our services. Please don't share sensitive personal or health details there.

When you email or call us.
Whatever you choose to include, such as your name, email address, phone number, and message.

Automatically, when you visit.
Like most websites, our site and its service providers receive basic technical information: your IP address, browser and device type, pages you visit, how you got to the site, and when you visited. See "Cookies and analytics" below.

We don't ask for payment information on this website. We don't collect assessment or questionnaire answers on this website.

How we use your information

We use the information above only to:

  • Send you what you asked for, like the free guide or news about the next Journey Course group.
  • Reply to your messages and questions.
  • Send occasional emails if you signed up for them. You can unsubscribe anytime.
  • Understand, in general terms, how people use the site so we can improve it.
  • Keep the site secure and block spam and abuse.
  • Meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We don't rent it or trade it, and we don't share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Cookies and analytics

What cookies are. Cookies are small files your browser stores so a website can remember things, like whether you've already closed a banner.

Our cookie banner. When you first visit, a banner says the site uses cookies to analyze traffic. Our analytics cookies are set to "off" by default and only turn on if you click Accept.

Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to see overall patterns, like which pages are popular and roughly how many people visit. Google Analytics loads on our pages. Until you click Accept, it runs in a limited mode that doesn't store analytics cookies. Google may still receive basic, cookieless signals about the page visit. We use these reports in aggregate. We don't use them to identify you.

Google reCAPTCHA. Some forms, including the Journey Course form use Google reCAPTCHA to block spam. reCAPTCHA collects device and usage information that Google uses to tell people from bots. Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.

GoDaddy. Our website is built and hosted on GoDaddy Website Builder. GoDaddy uses its own cookies and scripts to run the site, remember your cookie choice, and measure site performance.

No ad tracking. We don't run advertising pixels on this website (for example, Meta, LinkedIn, or Microsoft ad tracking).
We share our articles on social media such as LinkedIn and Facebook, but we don't use advertising pixels or retargeting on this site.

How to opt out:
- Don't click Accept on the cookie banner. If you already accepted, clear your cookies for scifsi.com and you'll see the banner again.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or browse in private/incognito mode.
- Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Learn more about cookies at www.allaboutcookies.org.

Email sign-ups and unsubscribing

When you sign up for the free guide, the Journey Course interest list, your email address is stored with GoDaddy, which runs our website forms and email tools. We use it to send what you asked for. Free guide subscribers also receive emails when we publish new blog posts, and occasional updates from SCIFSI.

You can unsubscribe anytime with the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of our emails, or by emailing support@scifsi.com. Even after you unsubscribe, we may still send a message you specifically asked for, such as a reply to your question.

Other services and links

Some links on our site lead to services that have their own privacy practices. This policy doesn't cover them. Please read their policies before you share information with them.

  • Appointment scheduling and client portal: ken-taylor.clientsecure.me. Our "Schedule" buttons link here. It's a secure portal run by SimplePractice, a third-party practice-management service. This is where scheduling, intake, and client information belong. Information you enter there is handled under the portal's own terms and privacy policy, not this website policy.
  • Integrity Protocol: integrity.scifsi.com. Our paid, mentor-supported program is a separate app with its own Privacy Policy and Terms. Payments there are processed by Stripe.
  • 5-Minute Integrity Check: 5minute.scifsi.com. Our free self-check is a separate app. See its privacy policy.
  • Amazon: Our book and workbook links ("Buy on Amazon") go to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. Amazon may use cookies to track a purchase that started from our link. We don't get your name or any other personal details from Amazon.
  • Social media: We link to our pages on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and YouTube. If you click through, those platforms collect information under their own policies. Our home page also shows reviews from our Facebook page.
  • GoDaddy (website host): GoDaddy hosts this website and processes form submissions, chat messages, and email sign-ups on our behalf.

When we might share information

We share information only:

  • With the service providers listed above, so they can run the website and its tools for us.
  • If the law requires it, such as in response to a valid court order.
  • To protect someone's safety, or to protect our rights or the security of the site.
  • With your permission.

How we protect your information

The website uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Only SCIFSI staff who need your information can see it. We rely on reputable service providers with their own security measures. Still, no website or email system is 100% secure. That's why we ask you to keep sensitive details out of website forms and email and use the secure client portal instead.

How long we keep information

We keep information only as long as we need it for the reason you gave it to us:

  • Email list sign-ups: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your information.
  • Messages and interest-list requests: for as long as we need them to respond and follow up.
  • Analytics data: kept in summary form under our Google Analytics retention setting.

Children

This website is meant for adults 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you think a minor has sent us information through this site, contact us and we'll delete it.

Your choices and rights

You can:

  • Ask what information we have about you from this website.
  • Ask us to correct information that's wrong.
  • Ask us to delete your information.
  • Unsubscribe from our emails anytime.
  • Decline or clear cookies as described above.

To make a request, email support@scifsi.com or call (803) 955-7627. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we'll respond within a reasonable time. These requests apply to information collected through this website. Records in the client portal or our separate apps are handled under their own policies and, for clients, under our professional and legal record-keeping obligations.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our website or services change. We'll post the new version on this page and change the "Last updated" date at the top. If we make an important change, we'll point it out on the site.
